Olives are quite resistant to pests so olive producers do not use pesticides unless they are forced to do so to avoid losses due to diseases of olives.

If the olive oil is used for human consumption, the residues of pesticides must be below limit values set by EU regulations.

The extra virgin olive oil used in Balance products is analyzed for pesticides and are below those limit values.
